Bushcraft: Bowdrills and carving
Outdoor and Adventure Skills Gathering – Bushcraft Sessions
For the Outdoor and Adventure Skills Gathering, we’re taking a fresh approach to our Bushcraft sessions.
This year, our sessions will be built around specific, hands-on activities designed to:
- Improve skills
- Spark ideas
- Inspire more adventurous activities with your young people
🔥 Bowdrills and Carving
For those with experience using tools who wish to add a bit of finesse to their skills! This course will focus on a full days bowdrill making, from harvesting the materials to creating an ember. Day two will focus on carving, with potential opportunities for a spoon or spatula to take away with you.
🪓 Breakout Sessions
We’re setting aside time for optional, smaller group sessions including (but not limited to):
- Tool sharpening
- Rope making
- Carving
- Pyrolysis
Have a specific skill or topic you’d like to cover? Let us know in advance, and we’ll do our best to fit it in.
We’ll also be having a Nature & Wellbeing Walk on the Sunday morning to revive our spirits & look at Sourcing Materials.
Let us help you build confidence, learn new skills, and bring more adventure to your Scouting programme.
We can’t wait to see you there!
