ERCA Generic Rescuer Course (Conversion)

ERCA Generic Rescuer Course (Conversion)

The Generic Rescuer is a qualification for instructors who already hold an ERCA High Ropes or Adventure Park Instructor qualification.  It builds on the accessing skills learnt in those courses and adds the skills to rescue a participant or fellow instructor from part of a ropes course.   Typically this includes various techniques for aerialk and ground based intervention and problem solving common faults (e.g. jammed belay devices).

This ERCA Conversion course qualifies people with transferable skills, knowledge and experience to fulfill the role of an on site rescuer as part of a ropes courses emergency plan as set out in EN15567 Part 2.

People attending this course must hold an ERCA instructing qualifcation, and have a solid foundation in instructional skills (at least 30 hours of experience) allowing them to recognise and anticipate a range of scenarios on a ropes course which may require a rescuer to intervene.  The course is progressivly structured so each set of skills builds on and reinforces the prvious learning, culminating in an assessed rescue scenario.
